Tomorrow’s the BIG day, are you ready?

Tomorrow’s the BIG day when we remind those in the corridors of power of the maxim: Government of the people, by the people, for the people. Are you ready?

Tomorrow’s the BIG day when we get to decide what direction we want our country to take for the next 5 years. Are you ready?

Tomorrow’s the BIG day when we return the report card to the present ruling party on whether it has delivered on the promises made in its last election mandate – do we truly feel safer now? Have we really become more prosperous? Has enough been done to tackle corruption? Has the ruling party become more transparent in its governance? Is the independence of our judiciary being upheld? Is our country becoming increasingly polarised along racial and religious lines? Are our constitutional rights being protected? Or has it been more of the same ol’ same ol for the past 50 years now?

For those in the parliament constituency of P.195 Bandar Kuching, the following interviews with your candidates ought to be compulsory reading:

Despite a flat-out denial reported in yesterday’s papers, the PM announced the dissolution of Parliament today. Gee man, what’s with the double-speak? -_-”

That aside, it’s time again to remind those in office that we the people, own them. And as far as I’m concerned, I’ve had enough with more than a few of them lil Napoleons.

“The people are extremely well qualified for choosing those whom they are to entrust with part of their authority. They have only to be determined by things to which they cannot be strangers, and by facts that are obvious to sense. They can tell when a person has fought many battles, and been crowned with success; they are, therefore, capable of electing a general.
